MISSION AND VISION
To proclaim the arrival of God’s Kingdom and work for measurable change among the lost and oppressed.
We take great joy in partnering with God to change the world, embracing the truth that all of life is sacred, hope is real, and today is a gift. God empowers His Church through the Holy Spirit to be an overwhelming force for good. We are passionate about our role as representatives of Jesus Christ and believe that he set the example of a life of service that we, as his disciples, are compelled to follow. Led by the Spirit of God we are moved to seek the lost, comfort those who suffer, fight injustice, assist the poor, care for the sick and to live out the transforming message of the resurrected Jesus.
The Church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves, caring about that which is closest to God’s heart. LifePark Evangelism and Mission (E&M) is committed to living out the purpose for which God has uniquely gifted and called each one of us as witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus in all the world.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
Evangelism and Mission is one of the three primary values of LifePark. It is valued and practiced because we desire to be faithful to Scripture. What is Gospel centered mission? Gospel centered mission can be defined in the following manner:
Glorifying God by proclaiming and demonstrating the gospel of Jesus for the sake of gathering God’s people to him.
There are four key truths about mission throughout the gospel of John that instruct us to be better missionaries for Jesus in our context.
When we consider what ‘mission’ is, we can easily fall into a trap. Either it is, in its entirety, ‘evangelism and discipleship,’ or it is ‘social justice’ with the former taking a back seat or being ignored altogether. Biblically, mission is inherently holistic. Holistic mission is mission that is concerned about the whole scope of human need. The Church exists in history for the sake of God’s global mission. God’s “global mission” for the Church incorporates the whole Church to the whole world. But that raises the question: What is legitimately included in the mission of the Church?
